Earthquake in Picton.
About 11.50am today, Friday 15 May, we felt a reasonably good earthquake in Picton, Marlborough, New Zealand. The epicentre was apparently close to our picturesque town and was measured at about 4.2 on the Richter scale. There is no damage reported so far, so that is good. Earlier in the morning we experienced gale force Northerly winds and heavy rain but as I write this the wind has abated and the sun is shining again.
Returning to Blogging.
For all those who may have missed seeing posts from me lately I apologise. I have been busy shifting residence as well as my wife having an operation but I now intend to be more involved with my blog and online businesses such as SFI, Marketing Pond, Commision Junction, Pepperjam Network, so watch this space!
Earthrace arrives on Tuesday
Tomorrow, Tuesday 21 April, “Earthrace ” is scheduled to arrive in Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough, New Zealand. The arrival time will be around 11am and the craft will be open to the public at the Visitors berth at Picton from Noon to 5pm. Later that evening the skipper, Pete Bethune, will speak at the Echo Cafe and Bar about the recent record breaking circumnavigation of the world in around 60 days.
People wanting to view the craft will be welcome to do so while it is moored at the visitor wharf.
I viewed this craft about 2 years ago when it visited Nelson prior to the record attempt. It is certainly worthwhile taking the time to visit and children are most welcome.
I hope I can post some photos on my blog soon.
